Caledonian Smoke Vent Services Ltd provide preventative maintenance visits to conform with the British Standards Institution Schedule BS7346-8 and The Buildings Regulations Approved Document B.
Smoke ventilation is a specialist element of the fire safety strategy, it is essential that measures are taken to ensure continued reliability of smoke control systems in the event of a fire. We undertake detailed servicing on smoke control solutions and provide reports on any remedial action required together with ongoing planned maintenance solutions delivered by our own qualified engineering team.
Maintenance of smoke ventilation systems is mandated by British Standard 7346-8 which states a minimum of two annual service checks by suitably qualified and trained engineers. compliance to BS7346-8. ‘The responsible person for the building must ensure that smoke ventilation equipment and devices are maintained to good working order, and are fit for purpose to safeguard the lives of people within the building.’ Regular preventative maintenance can prolong the life of these essential life-safety systems. Planned preventative maintenance ensures that any defects are found before a critical situation arises.
For our SE Controls panels we have the facility of ’Sceptre’ a powerful program that allows us to fault find and change parameters of the systems.
The Sceptre Programmer is SE Controls’ custom programming software tool which enables parameters to be set and adjusted to meet the requirements of
individual installations.
